found some very interesting visual novels recently (and my personal review, tw spoilers)

they are called sunshine backwards and absolute perfect specimen, both by the same creator (chambersoft) for free on itchio. ill try 2 review it without many spoilers so you can go play them for yourselves!!

1. sunshine backwards

FUCKING INSANE EXPERIENCE, I LOVED IT!!!! it really questioned the morality of the characters which had me reflecting on myself constantly. the subtle references 2 a lot of older internet culture which i had the pleasure (and misfortune) of experiencing myself were also very cool :3. i somewhat wish there was a second game as the ending felt 2 ambiguous but tbh its better this way. i adored the writing style, it felt more like listening 2 my own stream of consciousness from a 3rd-person view then a story (in a good way). i liked the parallels between what happens 2 her and her relationship w her ex-friend as well, especially with sonia's lets say, destruction...^_^ both characters were really relatable and i loved seeing both of their perspectives. 

2. absolute perfect specimen

i hella related 2 this game. i really loved the concept and liked how dysphoria was akin 2 being another person in a past life cuz i can really relate 2 that sometimes. i frequently think about concepts like reincarnation and wish that maybe, just maybe it was real so i could be reincarnated into a "real" boy. the story also really speaks 2 how often vulnerable people are manipulated by being enticed.

ik amy was the antagonist and i can agree that what she did was absolutely fucked up. but i do appreciate and can even relate 2 the feelings of wanting 2 "protect" those you love but driven by obsession and lust , taking it way 2 far. it was depressing and quite frankly upsetting 2 see how amy made no acknowlegement, and probably didnt even realize (or made some savior excuse in her head) how her actions affected nikki/pan. i feel like amys love was at the root driven by obsession by honestly her lust had a big part of it and she took total advantage of that which leaves not much room for forgiveness. especially with pan/nikki's memory loss which i suspect was intentional of amy. i felt quite empathetic 2 amy but tbh she got what she had coming. 

the song has no relevance 2 these games btw i just wanted 2 include it lol
