I'm slowly starting to hate social media. (Rant)

In the past I loved going on Instagram and had so much fun on it but now it's so exhausting. I thought making a spam account would bring the fun part of Instagram back but even that is so draining it's like just being on the app itself makes my mental health worse and I hate it. I've started limiting my use of social media and mainly using it on my laptop which has some benefit but even that has its own drawbacks. If I'm not active enough people in my life get upset with me but being on any form of social media has genuinely made me feel like it's made me more anxious and depressive.

I just miss it when social media and apps like Instagram and Snapchat felt fun. The only social media that makes me happy is TikTok and that app itself is even worse for the brain than any other form of social media. I know I could just delete the apps or deactivate but social media is such an integral part of society now and so many people expect you to be on it constantly to maintain friendships and other crap that just ridding yourself of it entirely is difficult.

Being on here and Pinterest are the only two social platforms that don't leave me feeling awful. This is just a dumb rant born out of frustration, but I was wondering if anyone else feels the same way I do. Like being on Instagram especially leaves me feeling so unbelievably anxious and depressed and now that I'm slowly starting to go on it less I'm already feeling a little more relieved :)

quitting was easy for me since my phone doesnt even have the storage for instagram yet alone tiktok
