figured this fit under the job category, teehee- i just wanted to share what my first ever in-person interview was like for me !!
the interview was for a 7/11 ~20 min. away from me @ 11am CST- im always the type to arrive early, so i got there at about 10:50 ^^
.....and then i got told my interview had to be delayed until 2pm, after an hour of waiting 〒▽〒
i didnt want to stay in the 7/11 the entire waiting time (i was driven here by my step-dad during his lunch break, so i couldnt stay without missing his offer to get a ride home as well) so i ended up going back home, having a small lunch (potentially a mistake (>_<) ill explain why in a bit) and had some motion sickness medicine because i have really, really bad carsicknesses
the second drive out to the interview was a bit more hectic, as the lunch and medicine i had werent enough to make me NOT feel totally ill.. i think i shouldve had some more food, but maybe i shouldnt have? i dont know.. my carsicknesses is always super persistent when i have to be in a car multiple times per day, so i dont know how to best treat it (for reference, the feeling of these two uber drives were worse then the 6 hours total i had to travel on christmas day........ really fun /sarc)
but this isnt about my carsickness, its ab my interview, so i wont go on ab it anymore ! i got to the rescheduled 2pm appointment 15 minutes early, since my uber arrived earlier then expected (○` 3′○) i was feeling pretty shaky, so i ended up buying a water bottle for myself to help give myself something to do with my hands... the assistant store manager showed up about on time- unlike the very structured question/answer system id been taught was the stereotypical interview, i got a very VERY laid back experience; she included a lot of anecdotes as she explained the the standards the company (and by proxy, she) would be upholding, as well as warning me about certain issues that may come up- like customers being rowdy over needing to show an ID for alcohol, or being required to perform back-to-back shifts to cover for people not arriving (she told me about the absolute horror story of her having to stay and work in the 7/11 for 3 days straight... and when she asked her boss if she could leave a few hours early from her shift since she covered so much, she was told "no" and just left anyways 😭)
ill be completely honest? her bluntness about the circumstances was really welcomed; i know some people would prefer something more traditionally professional and structured, but id always rather be told the circumstances straight up. that being said, her little horror story did scare me out of accepting the immediate job offer right then and there... i do think ill end up taking it, but i still wanna sleep on it and let the idea marinate- the offer will be good for ~3 days, so... (~ ̄3 ̄)~
// throwing up mention in this last section
...okay i cant help myself- the second car ride back was fucking miserable carsickness-wise Oh My God-- my uber drove so reckless, i was literally gripping the seat trying not to throw up or pass out ( ̄︿ ̄") i currently dont know how to drive, and nothing as convinced me to learn more then that (i was gonna either way, but it definitely makes me want to more)... i got home around 2:45pm and didn't feel okay until 3:30, it was ROUGH
ok bye lmao O(∩_∩)O
