camp camp camp

there's so many campy queer women movies in the west like DEBS, Ginger Snaps, Jennifer's Body, I'm Not a Cheerleader, it goes on and on. I think we need less fun queer women movies made here. Really quiet and grey and serious ones. House of Hummingbird and Tales of the Time Being didn't center around being queer but still took the topics seriously and both didn't make camp out of it. Women's character arcs in general need to stop circling around frivolity and naivete and fun and be treated as seriously as other queer stories. Too many "serious" women in media are the "ice princess eventually thaws" trope or their seriousness is the joke itself. I hate it. I love camp but I need something else. Need to go find some to take a camp break
