i cannot stop crying. what the fuck is it with sondheim musicals that just makes him feel the need to make EVERY character- no matter how irredeemable- SO SYMPATHETIC?? mama rose is disgusting filth but i genuinely cried so hard during the final scene. patti lupone is the best one i've seen do rose's turn, out of ANYONE. anyone. she just brings it home so well. a lonely, miserable old woman, who cant be happy for anyone unless she sees herself at the forefront of it. uaugyggknfldngiksdhfg
