Senior year and trying to wear my style

I’ve always dressed minimally, t-shirt, hoodie, and pajama pants… this year I’ve occasionally done my makeup or put together an outfit but it’s irritating when people make a show of reconciling my more scene, loud presentation with my otherwise meek one, and it’s hella discouraging honestly. I’m basically invisible in my usual non-done up look, but sometimes that’s preferable to being looked at weird. The worst part is my big hair making it hard to wear over-the-head headphones, so if people talk shit, I can hear them. Ugh. I wish I’d started dressing how I wanted a lot earlier.

I am assuming that you're in senior year of highschool. Senior year is kinda the worst time to change/embrace your style. For the past 3 years everyone has gotten used to how you typically dressed, so changing that up is naturally going to seem more jarring that it really should be. But honestly, what other people think doesn't mater one bit. If you feel that this better expresses who you are then go for it. You have a whole life after school to meet new people. If you wear your personality with confidence, you're more likely to meet people that you vibe with. Don't worry about what people in school think. Be yourself.

(Nice pfp btw)

i appreciate your motivating words, thank you. i guess its kinda easy to feel like this year is the end all be all of my social life but that would only make sense since so far school is the only social environment ive known. im gonna do my best not to let it get me down though coz in the end im the only one who gives a shit how i look haha
