hours of being on spacehey; shitty lil' review

HAHAHA OKAY AS OF WRITING THIS MY BROWSER DID A FUCKUP AND BASICALLY MADE ME LOOSE ALL WRITING PROGRESS THATS COOL THATS GREAT. IF I SEEM PASSIVE AGGRESSIVE IN THE TEXT BELOW; THATS WHY, JUST IGNORE IT >:_) IM NOT SEETHING, YOU ARE!

8.5/10. i like it so far, and plan on to use it often if possible! 

the most used apps for me, as mentioned in my previous blogpost, is twitter and discord, so into writing this im going to be comparing this site to twitter and other social media apps (yes i am aware theres a heavy distinction between spacehey and an app like instagram or twitter, stick with me here!).

this is my first time being on a forum site, (unless if you count toyhouse as one) so everything here is pretty new to me. so, what do i like about this site so far in the current 2 days of being here? read below!

Customization

i think this is pretty obvious, lol. but, seriously, i love how diverse everyone seems to be- down to the interests and the profiles. going through each and every profile, it makes me feel like im actually seeing peoples natures, if that makes sense? most social media apps dont give you much of that, they give you a profile picture and maybe a banner if theyre feeling nice and shoo you off your way to their overstimulating algorithms and feed. i mean hell, one of the only other apps that give you almost total profile customization makes you pay for it! completely stupid, and utterly soulless.

Similiarites and Differences

like every other social platform, theres bound to be comments, and with comments- theres bound to be some discourse. and can i just say, maybe its just the rose-tinted-glasses i have on as a noobie, but i absolutely love that? ive gone onto some blogposts and forumposts and see people arguing about stupid shit i would see on, say like, twitter. and i think the best part about it is that you cant actually like or dislike anyones comments, i mean you can share and report them- but thats it. its beautiful. 

and during my time of scouring through some profiles, ive seen a little bit of tiktokers and other social app users bleed into here. i mean, it makes sense, its not like as soon as you hop on spacehey youre exclusively talking and knowing about spacehey, you gotta let the people know you have a little bit of culture from other apps! but, i never would see it manifest in such a way where it can either be strong or subtle, its nice.

Interaction and Algorithm

you know how i mentioned algorithms and feed in customization? yeah, im gonna be talking about that here. let me make it clear, i know jack squat about the technical side of algorithms- but i do know they arent put there without a reason! theres a reason why everythings going short-form and vertical now, big tech corps are getting ultra lazy and super desperate with it now. and admittedly, i am not immune to wasting several hours of my time on purposely generated feeds. but with this site, you have to really go deepdiving for what you want. i tried to search up roblox as a blog topic, i think i only got like, 8 posts? kind of sad honestly, but understandable. the point is, this site doesnt seem to function like that, and it has me feeling two conflicting sets of emotions? im confused, impatient, "i want it now" sort of deals. but, it goes at a pace thats more easier to digest, everyone here types with how many letters and words they want- no number amount that limits you, and thats honestly probably way better for someone whos brain basically functions like a shitty tiktok feed (auDHD gang rise up). id honestly rather read 2000 words of instructions on how to hijack a car on here than another surface-level "grass is green" ass take.

Userbase

i dont really have much to say here other than one thing? which is, well, "Friend Collectors". ive seen this word pop up a few times and the first time i saw it- i was confused, but it wasnt hard to put two and two together. from what i gather, its like engagment farming? execpt, like i said before, it doesnt really seem this site has algorithms? im probably wrong though.. but anyways, friend collectors are people who just spam friend requests to several peoples profiles in hopes they accept them so they can get a large amount of friends...? i dont know why anyone would do that, but apparently theres people that do it, so whatever. i wonder if by this definition, im technically a "friend collector"? in my meet me section i mention i friend request anyone who has similar interests as me, but i dont have the goal of gaining any specific amount of friends, i honestly just want to talk to people more.
