Poem Prompt: Write a poem in any form or style, but frame it as if it was a message in a bottle that's washed up on a beach.
Perhaps you have found this years later
Late may be only a few months or few years
Either way it did eventually reach you
And that is all I truly desired
So hear me now as this is last thing I do
Everett my dear please forgive me
For even though I know I was wrong now
Oh how obstinate I was
Rightly so it was of you to cut me off
Grandma would have been something I would have died to be called
I am so sorry that this will be the last I ever write to you
Very little time for me anymore
Each day I hope and pray to be rescued
My time is not long on this earth anymore so I must say once again
Everett dear I apologize for how obstinate and stuck in my ways I was
I chose to do a axrostic poem where it spells out "please forgive me". The way the poem came to be is I decided to imagine a mother who got stranded on an island for a while and one of her last acts was to make a message in a bottle in hopes that it eventually would make it to her child. I chose Everett as the name because it worked into the spelling of "please forgive me"
