BAND "FEEL BETTER"

Back in November - 2025 in the social media "TikTok" the song "Feel Better" by Peneloppe Scott was trending, the trend consists in putting a photo of the user with the text "I'm a nihilist, a soldier, an OCD machine" and then put a photo of the user when they were kids/younger with the text "or I'm a healthy baby girl who traded sunshine for desease". I already knew the song, and the trend made me want to listen to it. I searched up "Feel Better", but the first thing that popped up wasn't the song by Peneloppe Scott, but a band and their self-named album "Feel Better".

That's how I found them.

The first times I saw it I didn't really pay much attention to it, it was just another band with not many followers, but after it kept popping up, I decided I would give it a chance. I pressed "PLAY" on the album and the song that welcomed me was "For Clarity's Sake", their most listened song.

The song playing in the background of this song isn't For Clarity's Sake though, this song is called "Stuck", the fifth song in their album, and I chose it because after some research, I found the meaning of this song via the website "punktastic" (https://www.punktastic.com/news/feel-better-unveil-new-track-stuck/), the link works for me but if you search up punktastic there will most likelty be no results as the website seems to be archived or no longer active (thing that is normal as the website was most active during 2004 to 2005):

" Feel Better have unveiled their new track, 'Stuck'. The track is taken from their forthcoming self-titled full-length, due on the 15th July through Really Rad Records.

'Stuck' is influenced by the likes of American Football and other turn of the century emo outfits, adding the contemporary twist presented by You Blew It! and their ilk, completed by an emotive horn section a la The Hotelier.

"I was struggling with work/life  at the time we wrote 'Stuck'," vocalist Joel Parmer explained to Substream Magazine, who premiered the track. "I wrote some potential lyrics on the back of a pay stub and came to the realization that while I was actually making a good amount of money for once in my life, the pay wasn't worth the fact that I didn't have time or flexibility to do what I genuinely wanted to." "

Their album was released on July 15th 2016, it is mainly emo indie rock, their album consists of eight songs:

1. For Clarity's Sake

2. Misgiving

3. Identity Crisis > Happiness

4. The Inevitable Light Post

5. Stuck

6. Woven Words

7. Emergence of a Dark Glow

8. Plumes

I've been doing research ever since I found them but haven't had enough success. The members of the band are:Zachary Sherwood - Drums, Percussion, Andy McCutcheon - Guitar, Taylor Jay - Guitar, Vocals, Bass and Joel Robert Parmer - Guitar, Vocals, Bass, Trumpet, Trombone, Glockenspiel. I found this information in Discogs, I initially thought Andy McCutcheon listed as a member might be the solo artist Andy McCuthcheon I found online, but after reaching out I confirmed they are not the same person. The real Andy from Feel Better remains elusive but the solo artist Andy McCutcheon's myusic is worth checking out: https://youtube.com/channel/UCk3bQOKCvwcRywLv5cUHBWg?si=Y7AfsuR6XHwE-lPN

The members Taylor Jay and Zachary Sherwood both were in the band "Western Daughter", which was active before, while and after the project "Feel Better" was active, Taylor Jay released solos as well. (Information might not be legit, but this is what I've gotten out of discogs). I've contacted someone who seems to own a CD or casette by Feel Better but still haven't gotten any reply.

As for me, I really like this band and would just like to learn mroe about it, their music has become really important and deep to me. If you, reader, want to help research and feel capable of it, please comment or send me a friend request and we can talk, peace, Damien.
