soo yesterday i created my profile, and some people added me on here. i added a person back, and i texted them first asking how are they, and what are they up to, just trying to start up a conversation. throughout the whole conversation i noticed that some word orders were mixed up and that barely anything was written gramatically correct (translators are known to do that), so i asked them politely, if they were using a translator and tried to let them know the correct order of words incase english wasn't their first language and telling them i'm sorry if i came off as rude.
they got super upset about it, started correcting every single one of my words, their capitalization, etc., telling me if i wanted to be a nerd, i should be a nerd in school, not on here, and that some people don't like being corrected, and that im being weird.
i apologized to them, told them i didn't mean to appear as rude, i just wanted to let them know, because, in my opinion, if someone corrected me and politely let me know the correct order of words (english for me is also NOT my first language), i would be appreciative and thank them for letting me know. i do understand that every person is different and react to situations differently, but i was just curious, because it looked to me like a translator was being used and it was becoming a bit difficult to communicate since the order of words was all mixed up, and incase they weren't using it, i was just trying to help them out.
that person just never responded to my apology and explanation, so i decided to remove them from my friends, because it's clear i left a bad first impression on that person, even though i didn't mean to come off as rude or anything.
