The philosophy of being different

"And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music." - Friedrich Nietzsche

From the beginning of time us human creatures have always been a big group being against anything that was different from the 'norm'. We see this from the beginning of time, for example : Witches , burning women for owning a 'cat' that was black. Or because of their interests in plants.

Kings, leaders, people with power used to choose what was normal and what was not. Even today. Influencers, social media, etc.. we are still to this day following what the bigger group thinks so we are not an "outcast". I am guilty of this and so are you, reader. When have you decided not to buy something such as an accessorie so you wouldn't be seen as 'weird'. We do this because we know the consequences of being an 'outcast'. It is to be picked on, it will happen if you are different from the norm either if you are a student, or on the workfloor or even in a household.

This is why humanity's opinions change based off society. Are your opinions really yours or are your opinions that of the popular society?

I'd say it depends. I believe experiences create our opinions and preferences including hearing others opinions.

I believe any opinion can change whether overtime, by others' opinion or experience if done right.
So to me the there's no real difference whether the opinion is a copy of another or born by one's experiences
