I admire people who draw

I fucking hate drawing.

It's the most stressful and frustrating activity I've ever tried to do in my entire life.

I don't understand how so many people find it their passion and make beautiful things.

I think they are superior beings in every way.

Or they're simply masochists.

Bad artist here, as much as I love the craft and do find an enjoyment in it - it is torture lol. Every artist is their own worst critic, to a point where I've seen genuinely talented people making these hyper realistic pieces saying it's bad. No matter how amazing you are, you'll always compare yourself to other artists and it makes your own skills feel insignificant. It's a double edged sword, because it inspires you to push harder and experiment more, but it also kinda blurs the lines of improvement so you can never really tell when or if you're getting better.

Art is a craft like anything else, but "getting good" at it is one of the hardest skills you could possibly go for. The amount of trial and error it takes to just make something recognizable is insane. I also struggle with keeping art a consistent part of my daily life, but it's rooted with issues of perfectionism and difficulties envisioning what it is I want to create. It's important that when you're starting out with drawing that you celebrate the smallest of accomplishments that you achieve.
