A World Without Money

𝘈 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘭𝘥 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘯𝘦𝘦𝘥 𝘰𝘧 𝘮𝘰𝘯𝘦𝘺

A utopical fantasy?

Or a necessary change?

As we set our sights on newer ways to make payments, through various digitalized currencies that are appearing throughout the world, this may be a great opportunity for people to really ask even deeper, more fundamental questions  than 'can I create a speedier checkout when making purchases?'

We are approaching what will be a major shift in how we make transactions( The switch to digital currency), but is it the infrastructure that needs improving or ourselves? 

𝘈 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘭𝘥 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘯𝘦𝘦𝘥 𝘰𝘧 𝘮𝘰𝘯𝘦𝘺

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐇𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐮𝐩𝐬

Generally, the 𝒔𝒌𝒆𝒑𝒕𝒊𝒄𝒔 may say one, some, or all of these reasons are why it wouldn't work.

• Some people would not contribute and do their fair share of the work that is needed to be done

• It would be a slower, less convenient process 

•Too drastic of a change.

•Destabilize the economy

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐅𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧

𝐉𝐞𝐬𝐮𝐬

I will unashamedly give the credit where the credit is due, and that is to the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. 

This isn't something that 𝘐 just came up with, or that 𝘐 am the start of a new movement.

Rather, it is that this is a commandment of the Lord, completely dismissed by almost all sects and forms of Christianity, (That applies to Catholics, Seventh Day Adventists, Jehovas Wittnesses, essentially all groups of some faith in the Bible) intentionally as well as unknowingly.

The Lord says in 𝘔𝘢𝘵𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘸 6:24 as well in 𝘓𝘶𝘬𝘦 16:13, that we cannot serve God and money, either we will hate the one or love the other.

When reading the verse, notice the wording. 

We CANNOT serve God and Money, because we can only choose one.

One may say in response, that I am "cherry picking verses", in response I say:  

• Jesus opens the Sermon on the mount with " 𝘉𝘭𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘦𝘥 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘱𝘰𝘰𝘳 𝘪𝘯 𝘴𝘱𝘪𝘳𝘪𝘵, 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘪𝘳'𝘴 𝘪𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘥𝘰𝘮 𝘰𝘧 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘷𝘦𝘯."

𝘔𝘢𝘵𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘸 5:3 

Also in 𝘓𝘶𝘬𝘦 6:20

(Poor in spirit is even poorer than someone who is just poor, for the poor in spirit, if presented an opportunity to be rich, will use it completely for others, whereas a poor man given the opportunity may solely enjoy his new elevated status) 

• Jesus says 𝘥𝘰 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘵𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘶𝘳𝘦𝘴 𝘰𝘯 𝘌𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘩, 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘪𝘯 𝘏𝘦𝘢𝘷𝘦𝘯

𝘔𝘢𝘵𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘸 6:19-21 

Also in 𝘓𝘶𝘬𝘦 12:33-34

-How will you store treasures in heaven? Will you go up into the sky and place them there? 

Of course not.

We store treasures in heaven when we give to others. When you give something that you possess to others, you become poorer here on earth, but richer in heaven. 

• The example of Jesus 

Jesus' life, though he came from heaven with incredible power and wisdom, was not rich. Nor lived a luxurious lifestyle, though, probably more than anyone who ever has existed, could easily have done so. 

𝘍𝘰𝘹𝘦𝘴 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘥𝘦𝘯𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘣𝘪𝘳𝘥𝘴 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘴, 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘚𝘰𝘯 𝘰𝘧 𝘔𝘢𝘯 𝘩𝘢𝘴 𝘯𝘰 𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘤𝘦  𝘵𝘰 𝘭𝘢𝘺 𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘥.

• The example of the disciples 

Frequently, when Jesus approached his disciples, they are seen leaving everything to follow him. 

Their jobs as well as their families. 

𝘔𝘢𝘵𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘸 9:9

Levi leaves his work as a tax collector to follow Jesus. ( NO, after he followed Jesus, he didn't have tax collecting as his other job or follow Jesus for an hour every Sunday), he was a DISCIPLE of the Lord.

 We see in Acts how the believers sold what they had, and brought the money to the Apostles, who distributed the money to those who had need.

The rich should rejoice in becoming poor

The poor are rich in faith and recieve the kingdom

The churches have in many ways completely missed Jesus teachings at best and at worst, have fought against what he taught. 

I believe that Jesus' teachings, his life and the lives of the disciples and early church display something vastly different to what is considered "church" today. 

Jesus is the foundation of not working for money, and instead trust in God for our daily provision. 

This is the cornerstone,  not to be disregarded.  

𝘛𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘪𝘴 𝘢 𝘳𝘦𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘭𝘦 𝘪𝘴 𝘴𝘩𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢 𝘣𝘦𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘸𝘢𝘺 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘱𝘦𝘰𝘱𝘭𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘭𝘪𝘷𝘦, 𝘞𝘐𝘛𝘏𝘖𝘜𝘛 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘮𝘰𝘯𝘦𝘺. 𝘈𝘯𝘥 𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘦 money 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘱𝘭𝘦𝘵𝘦𝘭𝘺!

There is more to be said against our current system. 

Money is not needed by us. 

We cannot eat it. We cannot drink it. 

It has value because we give it value. 

But for our physical needs, our bodies,  it is practically useless. 

Throughout the world, currency takes various forms and has various values.

 

If all of the jobs around the world, think of how many people work in some manner directly with the creation, management, or transfer of money, 

were instead used for something more productive, it would be a more productice use of their time. 

If even 1/20 of bankers became farmers or involved with growing food, how much better their invested efforts would go to the benefit of others.
