My fears for Precure 2026

Okay so pretty cure fans on here are non existent and it's incredibly sad, but that is NOT stopping me from sharing my concerns for this year's pretty cure season.

First, Star Detective Pretty Cure. Genuinely. Awesome. I wanted a Theatre themed season actually, but a detective season sounds like a fan season come true. To be honest, I grew up with Pretty Cure and when I was younger Tropical Rouge was the newest pretty cure so that is around 2021 if I am correct.

For the rest I grew up with Smile, Doki Doki, Kkpalm, HapCha and etc. I am currently watching Yes5 and Futari Wa, so I am really used to do the old pretty cure art style. Not necessarily ''old'', but we can't deny that each season used to have it's own unique artstyle and ever since Delicious Party the artstyle just isn't THAT distinct anymore. It all kind of looks the same.

So I was really expecting this Precure season to have a fun, funky unique artstyle (I was so bugged with the Kimipre artstyle fr) but it just looks similair to what we've had the last 5/6 years and I'm tired. And I don't know how to explain it but from the artstyle I kind of feel like we're getting another ''Happy go lucky'' leader and I'm so DONE with them! They all feel like they have the same personality and I am tired.

I could have it with Flora, Miyuki and Nozomi, but Megumi and Mana were NOT well written at all (super big Doki Doki Precure hater here btw) and to have all our leaders (excluding Heart and Healing) to be the utter copypaste of another is tiresome. I want more personality instead of a repeat. Yes, we get a purple cure with a different personality and all but I'd rather have a rational purple cure leader than whatever our main cure is gonna be.

Also that green cure is fucking teal/blue, I don't care what y'all say. Toei it's been 14 years since we've had a grass green cure (which was March, I dont care about anyone after that. If we have to discuss if they're green or not I am not accepting them) you gotta listen at this point. And it's crazy we are getting a black cure so quickly. And please do NOT make this cure evil or at least make her Twilight like (JUSTICE FOR TWILIGHT!!!!!!) and I would've liked a blackhaired cure so much. I've been wanting a dark haired cure for so long, like we don't have ANY cure with black hair. Not even Soleil has black hair (which makes sense because she's a sun cure, but they could've made her civilain form atleast have a black color) and she IS black.

The outfits don't seem very detective -y either. Like that's MY fear, that the detective plot is only going to serve a side plot (like how cards and mirrors was a side plot in happiness charge. What even WAS the main plot of happiness charge?) instead of a main. I really would've liked a hat together with the transformation outfit, that would've made it look so good.

Anyways, this is all my fears and complains I am off watching magical girls
