working while the snow falls

without giving away too much info, i work at a small tobacco shop in my town. the work overalll isnt bad at all, theres a lot of sitting around waiting for customers to come in. its nice tho because they give me accommodations to help mitigate my chronic pain. i have symptoms of POTS and hEDS but no diagnoses bc i dont have insurance and theres a significant lack of doctors who are educated on those 2 specific illnesses. anyways thats for another blog. its cool though that my  team has been very accepting of me using my cane on bad days and sitting down throughout the day when needed. 

i originally got this job because my good friend and former band mate offered it to me. we hadnt been hanging out a lot since the band came to an end, so i was excited to start working with him and being able to see eachother most days, he ended up quitting to go work at the same place as his dad makin the Big Dollar to support his family. im glad he is doing well, however i do miss him and working with him.

my manager is a very cool person, theyre very much a product "of our generation" and has good memes and good conversation (being super woke like me) and we actually might hang outside of work soon so i can meet their friends and fiancé. 

my ASM is a pretty cool girl too, shes a hilarious redhead with such a witty sense of humor and tons of stories to tell about her life despite being only 6 years older than me. shes a good woman who works really hard and is very helpful.

the job is mostly customer interactions, and most of them know what they want without much room for exceptions, so its a lot of straightforward transactions which is better than the food sercive ive done the past 8 years. theres only been a few 'problem' customers but theyre swiftly given the boot and havnt come back since being repremanded. i like a lot of the more mundane work such as restocking and facing the wall of tobacco and cigarette tubes, i just  like cleaning and organizing a lot.  it scratches something in my brain. aneewayz thats all i have to say about my job for now :))))
