Little famished Finn
In a land far, far away, there lived a little boy named Finn in a small village. That village was poor as fuck. One day, the boy went up to his mother and asked, “Why are we so poor, mother?” The mother sat by the window, smoking a cigarette. She looked at her famished child and said, “It’s your father’s fault. We wouldn’t be in this shithole in the first place if it weren’t for him.” She looked like she wanted to hit her starving child. “But how is it his fault?” said the boy. “It’s his fault because of his gambling addiction, Finn,” said the mother, staring out the window. “But what can I do to fix it?” Finn asked eagerly. The mother looked back at him, irritated, and said, “Fix it? Good luck with that. If you want to fix your father’s gambling, go find him a dragon with a pot of gold and a wizard who can change his mind. Now leave me alone, I need a smoke.” She lit her sixth cigarette of the day. Little famished Finn ran to his room and packed his things so he could get ready to find the dragon and the wizard who would save his father from gambling addiction. “Bye, Mom. See you later,” said Finn. “Yeah, whatever,” said the mother.
Little famished Finn began his adventure, but there was a problem: he
didn’t know where to start. So he went down to the town. There’s probably
someone there who knows something, he thought. When he reached the village, he
asked a man where he could find a dragon and a wizard. The man burst out
laughing in Finn’s face. But Finn didn’t take it as a setback took it as a
challenge. He asked more people, but they all laughed at him too. Finally, one
person told him to go into the deep, dark forest and up the mountain. He said
Finn would surely find a dragon and a wizard there. Finn thanked him and
started toward the forest. Before entering the forest, Finn looked back at the
man and saw something strange the man was poking himself with a needle of some
sort. Finn didn’t think much of it and continued on. After walking for a while
in the forest, Finn met a man who walked kind of funny. “Why are you walking
like that?” Finn asked. “Dude, have you ever tried magic dust before?” said the
weird man. Finn thought for a moment and said, “Is that what wizards use to
make potions?” “Oh my god, I never thought of that. I guess I am kind of a
wizard. Dude, you’re so smart,” said the weird man.
“But if you haven’t tried magic dust, have you tried flying grass?” “No,” said
Finn. “Wait how old are you?” “I’m eleven.” “Oh. Well, might as well start
early.” “Okay, but where do I find the wizard?” Finn asked. “Well, I can show
you. I forgot something at the wizard’s place anyway. Let’s go.” They walked
and walked until they came upon a small shack. They knocked on the door and
went inside. There he was the wizard. Finn asked the wizard if he would join
him on a quest to find a dragon so they could help his father stop gambling. “Hell
yeah, that sounds epic,” said the wizard. “But I need to finish making my,
uhhh… potions and brownies that we can take on the quest.” Finn stared at him
in amazement. “When will they be done?”
“Sometime tonight. But it’s safer to leave in the morning.” Finn nodded and
looked around the shack. There wasn’t much just a lot of plants.
When the brownies were done, Finn asked for a piece since he was starving. The wizard and the weird man looked at each other for a few seconds, then gave him one. About thirty minutes later, Finn said, “I can smell colors and taste noise.” The wizard and the weird man just laughed. The next morning, they packed their things and continued through the forest. They stopped at random cabins because the wizard had apparently sold potions to people. Finn worried they wouldn’t have enough potions left, but the wizard assured him they would. Eventually, they reached the mountain. No one had ever really tried to climb it mostly because the townsfolk were lazy alcoholics and gamblers who didn’t see the point. But that didn’t stop them.
As they climbed higher, it got colder and the air thinner. They found a
cave and decided to go inside partly because the dragon might be there, but
mostly because they were tired. Deep inside the cave, they saw a chest. Finn
ran up and opened it. Suddenly, they heard a sound. “The dragon is right behind
me, isn’t he?” said the wizard. They slowly turned around and screamed. The
dragon just stood there, confused. When the screaming stopped, there was
silence. “Uh… can I help you?” said the dragon. Finn spoke up. “Y-yeah… can you
help me?” “Sure. What is it?” “Well, I
was hoping you and the wizard could help convince my dad to stop being a
gambling addict.” The dragon stared at Finn for a moment and said,
“I’m not gonna fucking do that. Who do you think I am a therapist? I can’t help
your dad.” The wizard knelt down to Finn’s level and said, “Look, I can’t help
either. I’m just a wizard who sells drugs.” Finn looked at them in defeat and
quietly started walking home. Before he left the cave, the wizard said, “Look,
I can’t help your dad but you can live with me if you want. I can even teach
you some magic.” Finn jumped with excitement. Anything was better than going
back to that shithole he once called home. So they left the cave and started
making potions together the wizard, Finn (who became less famished), and the
weird man who just kind of stuck around.
And they all lived happily to the end of their days.
