In my time on the internet, in real life, socializing in general, I will tell you a BIG secret:
NERDS MAKE THE WORST MODS/ADMINS.
Seriously, if you have a hard enough time talking to people as it is and you have no concept of reality about what it's like to be "normal," and you can't fake it... DO NOT MAKE A SERVER.
If it's for your friends(?) I get it, but otherwise, however, when you make an absurd amount of rules, you either don't enforce them or overly enforce them, not to mention making rules that we can't even see, then punishing people for said invisible rules seems a bit insane to me.
If you plan to make the biggest discord possible, you need as much transparency as possible...
Just to point out, I'm A FUCKIN NERDY ASS 34 YEAR OLD.
Mini story:
I was in a Discord where there was a mod that had a stick up her ass. She would join the VC, and if she heard any swearing from a group of ADULTS, she would go, "Remember everyone, this is a 13+ discord! No swearing!" And most of us would just sigh and go, "We said damn... All of us are adults""We dont know if you are Tarra! You won't verify your age!"
"I'm 33..."
"How do we know? You won't send your ID."
"Because that's against Discord TOS and against the law."
She always went silent on that but tried to side-track.
Remember, everyone, if ANYONE ever asks you for your ID over Discord, DO NOT give it.
>But Tarra! They say it's ok if you blur out everything!
Doesn't matter. DO NOT.
The ID stuff for like Facebook, Twitter, ACTUAL Discord stuff, VRChat, and LEGIT companies, fine. But a GROUP made by some randoms on the internet? DO NOT TRUST THAT SHIT!
They go through a company that takes your ID, verifies the contents of it, and then sends the company that is requesting the data a hash code verifying true or false. The company itself doesn't get any information.
Do you think some Discord on the internet has that? PFFF No...
I read it out loud if you're lazy! Enjoy!

GOAT
tbh i avoid anywhere that enforces a bunch of superfluous rules with an iron fist
and my god there are a lot of em XDD
It's one thing to have rules; it's another to have a list and never remember any of them. I go over my own rules every so often, just in case they've become obsolete... Like you had to make a rule for 1 person
