# Melon Cream Soda's Recipe! <3

Hello Helloo!, this is my first post onto the spacehey platform, so in order to introduce myself, I’ll be sharing one of my fav recipes, as a shōjo’s girlie, in hopes that you can try it out and enjoy it as much as I do <33

Today’s special is: “Melon Cream Soda”, a rather popular sweet beverage in places like Japan, oftentimes featured in well-liked slice-of-life’s animes, such as my beloved “Kimi ni Todoke”, or even… “Fruit’s Basket”. Widely portrayed by the media as a nostalgic yet classic choice, reminding people of traits such as youth, along with sweetness, paired up with a distinctive cute appearance, a tad bit childish at times, but incredibly unique on its own!

The ingredients I’ll be using throughout the current recipe can be found both in Japanese-themed supermarkets and online stores, including Amazon and webpages alike. That being said, in case you find it difficult to gather the following ingredients, you can always adapt it to a much more realistic version, depending on where you live or even, staying true to your own preferences!, going for healthier choices by mixing regular syrups and adding pureed melons, which of course… Its flavour won’t be the same as the stated one... But I promise to bring you more accessible and easier recipes to prepare during the following weeks, so that anyone can replicate at home!

And now, without further ado, let’s jump straight onto what you’re probably here for, instead of dealing with my endless yap haha.

Ingredients:

✿ 3 Tbsp melon syrup

✿ Ice cubes

✿ ¾ Cup carbonated water/soda

✿ Vanilla ice cream (yumm)

✿ Maraschino cherries (totally optional btw!)

Instructions:

✿ Step 1: Gather all the ingredients.

✿ Step 2: Add the ice cubes to a glass and 3 Tbsp of melon syrup.

✿ Step 3: Include  ¾ cup of carbonated water (or your regular soda).

✿ Step 4: Mix well with a spoon and top with vanilla ice cream.

✿ Step 5: Garnish with maraschino cherries and enjoy!!!
