My thoughts on Aqua's Story, the Final Episode, and the Secret Episode of Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep.

I was going to try and finish the game before the New Year, but alas, I was too lazy to lock in. Nevertheless, I have officially finished Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep.

Aqua's Story

Surprisingly, I found Aqua more fun to play than Ventus. Terra is still my fav out of the three, but learning to actually use magic was fun and I'm glad I got the opportunity to play a magic-based character. Her story was overall good, though again I'm afraid I must say Terra's was my favorite. I will say, however, she had consistently the best bosses, since a lot of them were actually connected to the world she was in and not just another one of the Unversed. Looking at my battle report for the story, it's fascinating how she's the only character that I didn't really use D-Links with, seeing as the most used was only used a total of four times in my playthrough. I'm pretty sure I didn't use D-Links at all since my build for her was already good, as I used a lot of the mine spells, which are crazy powerful. The last three bosses she fights (Vanitas, Braig, and Venitas) aren't very fun to be honest, but that's ok since the rest of her route was really good.

Final Episode

Cool way to end the game. Fighting Terranort as Aqua was fun, though a little frustrating. That second phase though, where Terranort is a stand user? Easiest fight ever. Like it may as well have been a cutscene it was so easy. I really liked the ending of Aqua trapping herself in the dark world while Terra was sent back to the light, only to find out that he's actually still Xehanort.

Secret Episode

The final-final part of the game (except maybe like Mirage Arena). I liked the secret episode, but the cutscenes weren't really for me. They reminded me a bit of Final Fantasy VIII's opening, and I understand that it's supposed to be a hint at what's to come, but that's not really my thing. Gameplay was cool though. I liked fighting heartless again, and the dark world is visually very nice. I hope I'll get to play more of it in the other games. Admittedly, I think the Final Episode is a better ending, but again the whole purpose of the Secret Episode was just to tease future games and not to conclude the story, so I suppose that makes sense.
