the big twenty twenty six

The New Year is finally here! This means a lot to us humans, as it gives us a chance to reflect on what we did or what we didn't for the last 365 days. In my case, this year has been a lot of fun and by far the best year of my life and I want to keep this trend going and make 2026 an even greater year.

More specifically, there are some aspects of my life that I'd like to change:

  1. More organization

  2. Less tobacco and less tar in my lungs

  3. More realness, more creativity and less digitalness

  4. More books

But how? Am I going to succumb to the comfort of misery or am I going to face the pain of change?
Let me tackle each main point one by one

1. More organization

I'll be honest. I'm a really messy person. My room gets messy a couple of days after having cleaned it. I'm pretty often late for things, and as far as my studies are concerned, I'm all over the place. This is no bueno. I need to be more organized.

First and foremost, I'll have to address the main cause of all this. After school I'm incredibly tired and completely unmotivated to do anything, so I spend my afternoons and my evenings doing nothing a habit whose consequences ultimately culminate on Sundays, when I find myself doing 12 hour study marathons... what if (and hear me out)... instead of doing nothing after school... I do something? Now this might sound like a wild idea but it might actually work. I think that if I go to the library after school, review my notes (if I even took any), do the homework I've been assigned and only then get home. Pretty feasible on most days except one those where I get out of school super late, I'll try to do what I can.

As far as room getting messy, this is a slightly bigger problem which I don't know how to tackle routinely without wasting a bunch of time every day. I might just clean it on weekends. But to be honest, this doesn't mother me as much as it bothers my parents. Oh well!

There are a bunch of other things in this category but I won't get into them here, since they don't matter too much.

2. Less tobacco

These past few days I've been unable to take a deep breath, and I oftentimes find myself out of breath after hitting the dance floor or after walking up a flight of stairs. The plan? Slowly reduce the amount of cigarettes smoked until I get to the point I smoke when I go out/special occasions. I've made a deal with a friend where we can only smoke one cigarette (RYO) per day on weekdays. That ought to make us more accountable, so we hope that works.

There really isn't much to this, I just wanna smoke less, as much as it pains me to say, I don't want to become like those 50year old people who can barely speak without running out of breath

3. More realness, more creativity, less digitalness

Main point here is less digital-things. Self explanatory, I've talked about this in another blog I think, but I'll probably be using a dumbphone on weekdays and only check my smartphone messages only after getting home. I'm going to allow me bringing my smartphone on nights out since you never know. Plus my phone takes pretty good videos and I want to have the memories saved somewhere. I'm planning on buying a digital camera and using that as well, but for now that's the solution I'll choose.

More creativity: I want to make things with my hands, and I want to be able to say: "I made that" and be able to say it with pride. I don't want to depend on buying things, I want things made by me, for me (or for whoever asks, lol). Things like woodworking, working with fabrics, music, drawing!? are things that I want to explore this year.

4. More books

Self explanatory. Books are good I'd say, I don't read many books, I want to read more books. I need, of course, to make it easier to sit down and read (make it some sort of ritual), that entails me fixing up my e-reader.

other stuff:

less procrastination, less time wasted, more rest but more study, time better spent, etc. etc. etc.

THE END:

year tier list:

  1. 2025
  2. 2024
  3. 2021
  4. 2020
  5. 2022
  6. 2023
or something like that
