idk what to think abt this

idk if this is rly moraly wrong or what but ill just put it here

so theres what like 8-9 billion ppl on this planet, and if im not wrong theres a massive overpopulation problem in many countries, if not , the world in general. wich also leads to many other problems bc pretty much humans are responsible for every global grade problem.

so them whats the obsession with trying to keep them alive? many places illegalizing abortions, suicides a massive no no, dont smoke cuz ull die earlier, dont drink cz ur gonna die earlier, dont eat bad cz ur dying....

i get if humans were suffering and we r trying to prevent stuff like torture (i cant think of other examples)

but whats the fixation with trying to keep them alive? all the reasons i can think of is: what if they grow up to be mega successful and contribute a lot to society (highly unlikely, nobody has rly dont that for billions of yrs, still prob not gonna happen, also js look at modern day "successful" ppl aka-billionairs... not much else to say), less ppl= less consumers for big industies, and also that it might just be rly immoral.

feel free to give ur opinion in the most harshest way possible

i'd honestly share my own perspective but it's through a really cheesy ethical stance that you'd see in kids cartoons trying to spread positivity so what the other commenter said is really true

i'd like to keep my awfully overloaded sense of optimism and say that there's more to our lives than spoon feeding our government xd

Capitalism and patriarchy thrive on controlling people. Abortion isn't illegal because they really care about fetuses, but rather because men and religious extremists yearn to control women. I'd say the issue isn't that we should stop wanting people to live but rather hold accountable those who make life miserable for the majority (companies, billionaires...).

The issue is not really the number of humans there are but rather the speed at which we are developing without caring about our repercussions on nature and Earth. I agree that making assisted suicide stupid, though.
