Going to a dance

Yall, I literally need advice NOWWW. so every February,my school has a dance, last year I had a date to go with but now that I'm single now,I have absolutely NOBODY TO GO WITH. And before you ask about my friends, yeah were going together but they ALL have dates and Im not tryna be the third wheel. But I do have another friend to go with but the problem is that the whole school thinks we're dating even though we're NOT, and I dont wanna make the rumors worse. ADVICE PLZZZZ!!!!!
