has anyone thought about the fact that applebees couldve taken the time to completely rebrand itself during the pandemic. Like im thinking they couldve done an environmentalist 180 pivot...like hey we give a FUCK about the environment. They have a fruit and the word bees in their name. Bees might as well be the unproblematic national animal of America at this point. Think about if they did a marketing campaign right when covid happened and people were talking about the dolphins and fish coming back to venice, like yeah thats nice and all but "we've got fucking BEES." A sustainability campaign about applebees starting beehives and environmental collectives in low income neighborhoods (ya know the places where they shove applebees and sell alcohol for cheap to further victimize a struggling populus). A total missed opportunity if you asked me.
I guess all applebees will really be is the place where ricky bobby from Talladega Nights was conceived in aka a manger in a white trash nativity scene, selling 1 dollar margaritas to people who need medical care and substance abuse programs.
