Hello!
I'm so frustrated that I'm twenty years old and still not in college. I could be, but no area of my interest seems consistent. I mean, I took a 2D animation course, but to work in that field I need a complete portfolio and expensive equipment. And this whole artificial intelligence thing is messing with my head. I love animation, but I won't be able to work in that area right now. After researching some interesting areas, I found cybersecurity and I loved it (I'm taking a basic course now, I think it's for me). I have to choose a definitive area to make my parents proud before I'm too old.
You might think it's crazy, but I spent all of 2025 looking for a job and no company called me—not even those awful jobs. But I'm still hoping that 2026 will be better.

I also spent most of 2025 job hunting, applied to hundreds of postings, got no new job. Seems like the job market is super tough for entry-level and juniors. Really sorry to hear about your experience, hopefully in 2026 things get better

i applied for about a billion jobs in 2025, to no avail :( its hard out here. be patient, if youre taking a course on something youre finding interesting just let that lead you where it happens to lead you. things will turn up :)

Don't focus on making your parents proud, focus on making yourself proud, or maybe just do what you enjoy the most, it's your life in the end. It's quite tough nowadays, but I wish you best luck on finding a good job!
True, I think I'm too focused on what my parents think that I'm forgetting about myself. My parents don't pressure me, but I really want to reciprocate what they do for me.
