A memory of an embrace

"On both knees, for final hymn. May I rest my ear against your lap? You are a cherished companion, my beloved. Would you hold me though if I failed all the earth? Would you run your fingers through my hair, if I fell in a pit of anguish and soot?"

"Oh, days. You sing beautiful, but vainly. You may raise your head to my bosom and fold. For I cherish you also. Though, you never failed the earth, nor the stars, and it matters not if you're drenched in anguish or smothered in soot. I promise to you, I will still brush your hair, wipe your face, and kiss your rosy cheeks."

"But when comes the days gone, you are no where to be found to fulfill any of your promises? Must I burden?"

"Lay side to me and I will tell you. That the time I will be gone, is further than you can fathom. Now, hear my beating life and step in its rhythm. Let it guide you out of your doubts, and further more, you will never burden. See my gown? If that is all I leave behind, may you purpose it anything greater, and never let it dust or rot standing."

"Of course. Of course I will lay to you and I hear your music, the eternal song. So, It's clear the future of you and I is far, yes... though... I still dream and have visions so real. I can feel your cold skin with my fingers. But I see they are just dreams, and I am assured as I feel your warmth pressing against my body. Now, I promise you, that I will use your gown to craft something great, it will be loved. Loved equal to us as if you never go astray."
