Internet Censorship is Dumb and Bad

Why the hell is this website, of all websites, one of the banned ones in Virginia? I live here, I'm over 18, and yet I can't access it normally because for some godforsaken reason, my state government has control over what WEBSITES I get to use. Am I gonna have to switch to TOR soon, that janky, slow browser I hate using?

Age verification is a clear-cut scam, it doesn't protect kids. If I can spin up Garry's Mod and use the faceposer tool on the G-Man to get past the AI, it's a trash system. It absolutely screws over smaller social sites, who don't have the resources for age verification, so they have to give up and block access. Who would it even protect if the damn thing worked, anyways? Kids? Doesn't protect 'em well enough, obviously.

So why all this? Why? It's to police what you see. Governments, corporations, everyone wants the general population to only see what's desired. OR, and this is a real conspiracy, they KNOW smaller companies can't put in place age-verification - they're trying to secure a monopoly. It's bullshit, is what it is, regardless of the reason.

Usually it would be here where I'd say "here's what you can do to stop it!" but unless you're a billionaire, you can't. You need to adapt, we all do. Physical media, personal websites, ignoring the damn law like our forefathers did back when the internet was still new. Learn how to torrent from your dad, or mom, or uncle, anyone BUT ChatGPT.

The internet USED to be cool, for anyone to come on and find anything. But that's just too much, they want to feed you a narrow echo chamber of slop the algorithm hand-picks for you. Don't fall for it. Don't let them win.

Fuck Meta, fuck X, fuck YouTube. Quit using them for anything but pirating music and finding tutorials for Linux. If you're letting these sites and apps control your worldview, you're a slave to the corporations. They WILL censor everything to stop you, so put up your middle finger and just move around them.

We used to have thing thing called "Freedom." Now, in Europe and America, that's all just a joke (and in other places, it already WAS a joke). So toughen up, kids, because this shit is not getting better 'till the bubble pops.
