May be because documentary-like videos are doing well recently, so people go along with the idea? Well, I'm not complaining, some of those videos are well made
I agree that they are popular and well made! I just don’t see why everyone wants to document the “ death of something. Most of the “death” stems from social media and is only happening on social media. why not talk about something that isn’t so cut and dry?

I think that may be because by making a video about the rise and fall / death of something, you are kind of showing people what went right about that thing and what caused it to fail. It's like history; you learn with the past mistakes of other people and learn even more with past sucess? I dunno if that makes all that sense, but I would guess that's the reason
