its been sweltering all day. the sky is dark, hot blue. bridget bardot died today. im in the savoy region of the alps, here are a few pictures and thoughts from today.

Heres me this morning... not quite ready to take on the mountain actually. Feeling rather morose i think. I think it was the heat (and my dads ABSURD snoring) that put me in a bad mood. I'm certain that i was meant to live somewhere colder than england, i can't stand anything above like 5 degrees, so when i travel somewhere colder and its not up to scratch.. aghhhh so disappointing.

The mountains are so beautiful. Absolutely huge, I feel so tiny when really looking at them. Its sad though, theyre never this bald. Climate change is really having its way with the snow. Trying to enjoy it while its still here. Its hard to find respite from the world up here when they look so unwell themselves.

Something that I think is really lost in pictures of the mountains is just how fluid they look. When im dangling on the chairlift and look down at the piste, i feel like a bird flying over the sea. The rocks jut up in black waves, the snow sea-foam churned up by the waters ferocity. When the wind hits it, it gusts up like sea-spray. On flatter areas, the snow appears to ripple out as if a fish had just surfaced at the top of a pond. Where there has been mini-avalanches, the thinner areas appear like frozen splashes of rain meeting the water. Generally, i find the mountains look like a huge, angry ocean, who, one day, were zapped by God's lazer-gun and frozen in glittering quartz. It still appears to lap, crash, spray, foam, churn and settle. It's lovely. I think its a shame that most photography taken of snow tends to enjoy the untouched, flat, virgin kind of snow, when the fluid, oceanic snow is far far far superior.

right. not a great picture. but. a SEXUAL pizza that i ate half of. Mozzarella, goats cheese, honey and walnuts... oooohhhhh yeah just like that
N E WAY thank u for reading. sory its formatted badly i dont have time to learn how to do it better rn.
