The year’s about to be over and although I wasn’t able to read much, without a doubt I’ve accumulated some new favorites. I just want to start by saying that I’ve ONLY ever had a one way method of picking a book:
1.) Reading the first page ( NEVER READ DESCRIPTIVE BACK).
I want to encourage anyone that reads this to do the same!! It is such a great experience going into a book blind, the greatest there is…
In no specific order:

Piercing - Ryu Murakami
Terribly wonderful read! I could not put this book down for the life of me so I finished it in the span of a few hours. The pacing of the chapters makes it feel as if it’s real time. I don’t want to spoil but all I’ll say is that it’s suspenseful and a super unpredictable fun read. Truly, truly recommend !! After finishing it, I realized there was a movie and after watching the trailer, I can confidently say it can’t even compare to the book.
The Solitude of Prime Numbers - Paolo Giordano
Perfect representation of a delicious read. From front to back, everything was so impeccably described and this was once again another one I couldn’t put down. I finished it in the span of 2 or 3 days?? Honestly can’t remember because it was a distraction book that was making me procrastinate on work at hand. Back and Forth perspectives, had me on the edge of my seat for each interaction with each other. Odds who are oddly similar yet different.
Remains of the day - Kazuo Ishiguro
Upon appearance this looks and sound like the most bland book ever I know! However it called out to me and yet again another DELICIOUS read. Literally one of the books that quite possibly opened my eyes to something that was affecting me real time; left a dent in me in just the perfect way. No spoilers but, a butler it is, and a butler it always is.
☆Guilty as charged, I love Penguin Classics……However an honorable mention that ISN’T one:
Bad Foundations - Brian Allen Carr
The best way I can describe this is that it was a fun read. Has pictures, comedy, and learned plenty more than I ever needed to about house foundations.
