why i love cds

ok i very recently got into cds (not so recently, i mean late may/early june but whatevs) and they’re so amazing and i’m here to explain why i like them. i mean, it’s a very cool way of listening to music without having a phone (as is my case) and that was honestly my main reason for asking for a discman and my 3 favourite gorillaz albums in cd this christmas, but that has done so much more than that. it honestly helped me disconnect from chats for longer, just sitting, enjoying the music. so far i only have 5 cds; gorillaz’ Plastic Beach, gorillaz’ Demon Days, gorillaz’ The Now Now, gustavo cerati’s Bocanada and twenty one pilots’ Blurryface, and honestly, i make sure to give each of them a listen every day. the pure excitement of walking into a record store and being able to hold the very album that has pushed you through so much, right there, in your hands, and then being able to play it in a small device was a life changing experience for me. i am also planning on saving up for a small phone to only dial, since i only want those two pieces of tech to communicate (discman and cds for my music, little phone for calls and texts). 

i love these types of tech sm because they are the literal physical manifestation of the music that has helped many of us, marked many of us, changed many of us. also shoutout to the artists that take creative liberties when making their album booklets, you are real ones (e.g., twenty one pilots, gorillaz, natalia lafourcade, etc.)
