!!!!This one was written like 2 years ago and is no longer relevant to me but I think it's really good so I wanted to put it out there!!!!!
The Author
I miss you
And sometimes I feel like you don't miss me
Like I'm something you can put on a shelf and forget about
Like a letter sitting on a desk waiting to be written
If only the patience of the author was greater
If only the laziness of the author was less
Maybe the letter would be written and sent
To the benefit of those the author loves dearest
Of course the author intends no harm
I like to imagine his head is filled with ideas
Words and poems and lovely things he likes to think about when he's alone
But he could never say
No
He would never say
I like to imagine I know the author
Fully and completely.
I spend each day getting to know the author,
Centering my time around his beautiful mysteries
that I might know if only he would tell me,
If he would write those haunting words upon my pages.
But instead the author leaves the story unfinished
No
Unwritten
It takes too much out of him to write
But it takes everything out of the paper he leaves behind collecting dust,
Only to be thought about but never discussed.
If only the idea left the mind of the author
If only he had the intent to say what should be said
but he waits to do what should be done
As if the world won't someday end
This one was written more recently and is extremely relevant. Take a wild guess what it's about
Sheep
Millions of sheep
Bowing at the feet
Of a false prophet shepherd.
He promises Providence, wealth, and fame
At the cost of the lives of the others.
Stepping on the backs of those he says are less
He claims it all as being God's will.
And as burning bodies cloud their vision
They deny that he ever killed.
