okay, so i gotta say, this whole post is kinda… missing the point in a major way. i get it, the author is frustrated seeing people online struggling w/ social stuff and maybe thinks it’s "easy" to just go up to someone and start talking, but the reality is way more complicated than that. mental health, social anxiety, depression, trauma, and just general life circumstances aren't things u can solve with a simple "just talk to people lol." like, great advice u cured my social anxiety! telling someone to "get off reddit and find people their age" or that they're "addicted to being alone" is not only reductionist but also a bit harmful. it minimizes the real struggles people have and makes it sound like they’re failing at life for not behaving the way the author thinks they should.

i think the post is well-intentioned in trying to encourage people to reach out and socialize, but it’s really missing nuance. you can’t just reduce human connection and mental health to “stop being online and talk to people normally.” empathy, patience, and understanding go a lot further than telling people they’re embarrassing for struggling.

basically… yeah, it's kind of a "stupid" take, but more than that, it's a little harmful because it oversimplifies and judges instead of understanding. everyone's experiences are different, and it’s okay if some people need time or help to figure out how to connect with others.
