Hi everyone. This is my first time writing a blog post so be patient while reading ;)
I wanna talk about the journey of me turning to be a professional music producer and leaving the music production industry after 202...Spoilers!!!
So all it started in the summer of 2021, one day I was chilling and I was listening to music as always. I've always been listening to music differently, noticing sounds and instruments and I've always been curious about how these songs were created.
So it clicked on my mind that day and I started searching for tutorials on how to make beats, so after that I started making beats on my phone cuz it was the only way that I had to make music that day.
After months of just playing around with the software that I was using, I told myself that I had to switch to a laptop cuz the experience will be better. So I took my sister's laptop and I downloaded the software there. From there I started taking producing a lil bit seriously, just to prove to myself that I can create thing and look at it with a smile and say "I created that". I was doing it for the love of creating not seeking validation from others.
One year after learning and playing around with the software, I started seeing myself getting better, and my beats turning from ds to something audible. I started a YouTube channel, and I started uploading beats there. My friends started liking my beats and showing me support.
After a while, in Dec 2022 I HAD MY FIRST CUSTOMER!!! it was an amazing experience tbh. I uploaded a beat that day and it got some views, two customers hmu that day. From there i started getting customers, and my views getting higher. The next month my parents bought me a new phone. During the transfer of data from a phone to another, I forgot that I didn't login to my email in the new phone after resetting the old one, so I've lost the channel.
(In this era I was making Playboi Carti type beats if you are curious).
So you think this was it? NOPE. I started a new channel, and I started uploading beats like I used to do before. Months passing by, I started switching genres and trying different types of music, like Rock and EDM. After switching to EDM, I started learning something called Sound Design, it's about making sounds and how sounds are made. Sound Design really improved my production skills, and it took it to a whole new level.
Learning Sound Design opened a new path to me, which is remaking songs. Remaking songs was a common thing that producers do to Improve their skills and get connections. I was listening to an artist called Odetari and I liked to start remaking his songs. Odetari's songs were so unique in terms of sound selection, which made remaking them a challenge to me and to other producers.
And yes, I accepted the challenge. I remade two of his songs and posted them on YouTube, two of them got a lil bit of views but meh (and I got a copyright strike on both of them to let you know that my remakes were ACCURATE). I got pissed off so I posted them as Instagram reels, and GUESS WHAT? Odetari himself ended up watching them and he liked them both. And he posted them on his Instagram story saying that both of them were insanely accurate and he is impressed (you can see the screenshots here).

Never felt being proud of myself like this before. And after his Co-sign, big artists started to hit me up and I was loved by the Dance/Electronic community. The biggest artist that I worked with called SaveTheWorld!, and I worked with him on three songs. The biggest song that I worked on is b3 my lov4 by SaveTheWorld! which got 1 million streams on Spotify. And my YouTube channel hit 1k subs.
One day in the summer of 2024, after graduating from high school, I quit music production. Why? a lot of reasons. But the main one is making music is prohibited in my religion. Yes I still listen to music, but I hope one day I quit.
I found myself free after quitting, so I told myself that I should find something else to do instead of wasting time. From that I started making 3d models, hoping one day to get to a level where I was before, or even better.
I Hope you all enjoyed the story (don't mind my English. It's my second language). lmk your thoughts <3. And btw I created a playlist with the songs I've produced here and it will be on my profile also.
