nostalgia, rose tinted glasses & the sort

i like old things. i didnt live for most of them. like 70s music, 90s music, 2000s music. its music i feel i identify with, like im connected with it on a spiritual level (whatever that means).. but it's odd that i feel that way, and i didn't live theough it happening.

the ps3 piss filter (and generally the look of older console games), or the certain sound of old music, or art styles, etc., give me that feeling of positive melancholy, "warmth" (i hate these words, but i really dont know how to describe them otherwise) that i cant explain... yet i like it. it feels a bit pretentious, but then again, i dont see why itd be a bad thing... maybe im just so disillusioned witn so much modern stuff that all thats left is old stuff. but thats another topic of discussion.

does anybody else think about that? is it weird to you people as well? idk...

Growing up (04) i did get to experience a good amount of early 2000s things especially growing up kinda poor. I got to play piss filter racing games with others online i remember being excited getting my first console (ps3) on my old CRT Tv, going to school and writing my gamertag down to give to a friend so they can add me and we would play call of duty or skate 3. Even to this day i bought a Xbox 360 and i still play games on my CRT Tv.

cool stuff, man. just something about shocking yourself with the crts!!! i find myself fantasizing (admiteddly, rather unrealistically) about those years, and the simplicity of it, that's sorta gone missing, even though i didn't truly experience them (as a kid, i did have a ps2 and a crt at my grandmas place. but, i dont remember much of that at all, and im not sure it really made an impact to me..). maybe, to me, the fantasy is just the appealing bit, but still, there's just something i cant put my finger on. also, adorable kitty :)

My Cat will appreciate the comment. Honestly the best thing you could do to experience closely what i had did back then was (not sure if you already do this or not) not be on smart phones as much or if you are dumb it down so you'll spend your time doing other things. This might sound crazy or weird but being bored and having almost nothing to do will suck at the moment. But later you will love it because it will push you to do stuff you don't normally do. like now i take the time that i used to use on my smartphone to read manga or find new niche music and download that to my iPod and i love it
