well it depends on whether u want dc or marvel comics. i honestly don't much about marvel that much in terms of what comics are good so all that I'm going to list are dc ones (mostly batman universe related):

☆ batman: the dark night returns
☆ batman: year one (highly recommend if you need some lore context!!)
☆ batman: death in the family
☆ batman: under the red hood (there's a movie for it thay basically sums it up but i recommend reading it to know more context)
☆ all-star superman (an awesome introduction of superman for beginners and the characters + the new superman movie was inspired by it)
☆ teen titans: raven/beast boy/beast boy loves raven/robin/starfire/together (yes, it's a whole series and it' to be read in that order. it's basically a modern reenactment of the origins of the teen titans and how they became a team).

I bought this comic recently and I'm just starting to read it, but I can easily recommend it to you, it has won many awards and is really appreciated, the name is Persepolois . And I can also wholeheartedly recommend the manga Bersherk
