• Okay firstly i do support people calling out for posers but nowadays people don't even know what a poser is
• POSER DEFINITION: someone that copy an aesthetic without knowing anything about it or claiming they love something while they know nothing about just to look cool, exactly like people in black hoodies and a bang calling themselves emo and when you ask them about their favourite emo band they say slipknot.
• But nowadays people call anyone a poser so lets talk about stuff people think that is a poser thing but its not

1.  MIANSTREAM BANDS: alot of people would think liking a mainstream band is a poser thing which its not at all, no one is a poser for liking any type of music and to be real mainstream bands are famous for a reason same thing goes to mainstream songs , its not necessary a poser thing some people may actually find connections with a popular song and that's okay, the real poser is calling metal emo for example, or not listening to any emo band while calling yourself emo.
2. NOT DRESSING IN A SPECIFIC AESTHETIC: People don't realize its more than okay to listen to emo bands, scene music, metal bands, goth  music, etc and not dress like it. Punk culture is all about music, the fashion is just an extra point that does nothing, yes a blonde preppy girl can be an emo if she listens to emo bands, yes that math teacher can be a metalhead if he listens to metal its not about how you dress its about your view and music .
3. NU METAL:  okay so first of all there's NOTHING wrong with liking nu metal even if there's people saying its not a real metal, personally i believe its a real metal idc what y'all are on but its a real metal, secondly even if its not a real metal there's still nothing wrong with liking it, people aren't calling other people posers for calling it a real metal they just call others a poser for simply liking nu metal

PUNK= POLITICS .  Okay despite everything i talked about i do agree that you can't be a punk if you don't care about politics, punk is not only about music but being against the system, you can be punk and not talk about politics but you can't be punk and hate politics
