If singing is a fun hobby for you or something that you really want to be a big part of your life, then I would say do it. Wouldn't even worry about friends/family seeing it, and even if they do who cares they're probably aware that you enjoy singing I would guess, lol.
As for videos, I would just do them in your bedroom for more practice with the occasional stage video. Just go into it with the mindset that you're doing it for fun and don't worry about anything else. You can't really control how many views or interactions you'll get when starting out.

You can’t be worried about being embarrassed on stage if you’re going to be in entertainment. Everyone has a camera in their pocket these days, so sooner or later a video is going to get out there. For me, I’d rather it be something that I personally approved of posting. Your family may bust you a bit but that’s only because they are proud of you.
If you are going to record something, I would shoot for either a piece that you are very passionate about, or one with audience participation so the crowd gets into it. You could also come up with a gimmick, especially if it’s a short clip for Tik Toc as opposed to a full length YouTube video. Your own version of the Masked Singer?
Jump in with both feet and see what you can do. You’ll regret it later if you don’t.
hi, thx for ur comment! i somehow don't mind being filmed on stage by others, it makes me feel honored that people want to catch my performance on vid! >.<'
you're right, if i dont try it, i might regret it later! i think for my new years resolution i'll start posting little snippets!!! :D
