My thoughts on Ventus' story in Birth by Sleep

Yesterday I beat Ventus' story in Birth by Sleep, which means I have now finished 2/3 of the storylines in it. I have a lot less to say about Ventus' route than Terra's, so I'll just start by saying that I like both Ventus and Terra's routes, but Terra's was a little better for me specifically.

Looking at the gameplay for Ventus, his whole thing is being decent at strength and magic, but really fast. I didn't quite enjoy this, as he just felt really weak the whole game. Don't get me wrong, I didn't hate it or anything I just enjoyed playing as Terra more. Of course, Ventus DOES get Ars Arcanum, which is a banger command, so I truly cannot complain. I also had a lot less command melding this time, which to be honest, I don't understand why. With Terra it felt like I had a million possible command fusions at any given moment, but with Ventus I barely had any possible fusions and I don't know why that is. The D-Links Ventus can use were very cool, specifically King Mickey, as Auto-Teleport is a very silly ability that led to me taking very little damage for a good portion of the game. I also liked how Snow White's commands were each pf the dwarves. Very cute. Last thing to say about the gameplay would be that the boss fights weren't too great compared to Terra's, and I wasn't much a fan of the final Venitas fight (or at least, of the pat where you use a special D-Link to finish him).

What I mainly liked about Ventus' route were his interactions with each of the Disney characters. I liked how he often worked alongside the Disney heroes, and it reminded me of Sora's adventures in the Kingdom Hearts games I've played. His story seemed to exude the "Disney feeling" and I really, really like that when it comes to Kingdom Hearts. His main goal being to simply get his friends back together was very sweet, and the Olympus Coliseum was very fun with how he interacted with Herc and Zack.

Altogether, I definitely liked Terra's story more than Ventus', but that does NOT mean that Ventus had a bad story to play through. It was a lot of fun, and I hope that Aqua's story outperforms both Terra and Ventus.
