a poem from last week

"you laid your lies behind my eyes, now they hatch and colonize"

spiders crawl aimlessly in the hollow space behind my face

burrowing in my nose and lining my throat

soon, a web of lies pours from my eyes

filthy threads encase my neck and pull until i lose my breath

my tangled ball of yarn unravels and floods my spider castle

its frayed, split ends trickle out of my head

yet they never leave, only spread my disease

now leaking from the narrow streams above my extremities

deceit runs down my arms and legs

the word around me is painted blood red

i wish i never let them win

a life of lies has made living seem a sin

all that begins must come to an end

but my spiders are far from extinction

their invasive life has no end in sight.
