HIHI IM SILLY BUN, IβM JUST GONNA TALK ABOUT A RANDOM TOPIC, BUT, am I the only one who feels super old when trying to find people their age in a specific fandom?
I recently turned 19 on December 5th, and I still havenβt gotten used to it. It feels really weird to say youβre 19, because I donβt feel that age at all.
Anyway, when I try to find people my age, like, for example, fans of Okegom (which is one of my hyperfixations) who are actually around my age, I only ever run into people who are like 13β15β16 years old. And it stresses me out, because I want friends, but everyone I find who might like Okegom is way younger than me AAAAAAA γβ½γ

I have a theory that perhaps there were simply fewer people born during the mid - late 2000s compared to people born before or right after this time frame. Maybe it just so happens to be that there were more babies born in let's say 2011 as opposed to babies who were born in 2006.
This could possibly explain the weird age demographic gap I see on here, with us mid - late 2000s borns being right in the middle of this gap.

its kinda crazy like i guess everyone else is too busy to be on the internet? or something??? lot of people irl aren't into the stuff im into either which saddens me. they're either like 30 or older or middle schoolers which sucks! am i the weirdo or unlucky ykwim?

No literally!! I've been looking for friends my age that are into the last of us and I feel like every person I find is 13 or 14 years old and I turn 18 in like 5 days and I feel so old

people usually abandon stuff they used to like, and teenagers 12-15 are usually the most passionate about stuff. It's really weird to be a 22yo fnaf fan lol, speaking for myself

not that people of our age range don't exist on here..but they are a little harder to find. at least that's been my experience. a majority of people on here are 13-16 and weaving through it is difficult.
ill find i stumble accross someones profile who likes all the same things as me and then get disappointed when i find out theyre fourteen, something that im not going to engage in. lol it takes some effort to find community but i guess thats the fun part.

Yeahhh it happens! You might want to seek out fandom at sites with older users, like tumblr or something
Yeah, I thought about that too, but I feel like on Tumblr people mostly do their own thing, and itβs harder to make friends there
