Details: Mom Jeans, love them or hate them, are a well-known band from Berkeley (CA - United States), that's been around since 2014. They are part of the Emo Revival movement from the 2010's, releasing 4 albums and 5 EPs to date.

The band's current members are:

• Eric Butler - vocals, guitar, trombone (2014 - present)
• Austin Carango - drums, trumpet (2014 - present)
• Bart Thompson - guitar, vocals (2017 - present)
• Sam Kless - bass (2019 - present)

Best Buds is Mom Jeans' first full-length album, being first released on cassette tape by Fourth Row Records. Soon, they signed with Counter Intuitive Records, who re-released the album on vinyl in November 2016.

Impression: After a long time of postponing it, I finally listened this album completely. People have very mixed impressions on this album overall, actually getting a lot of hate in general. Being cataloged as a "Poser Midwest Emo album".

I agree this album is not for everyone, especially regarding the vocalist's whiny voice, the lyrics that can be rightly associated with "male manipulator music", etc.

But overall, this album was a fun listen. Having a very good and polished production and good instrumentation. Songs like Edward 40hands and Girl Scout Cookies actually slap. Although the lyrics can be quite unorthodox (and very corny) at some points, it gives the album it's personailty.

Btw, Scott Pilgrim vs. My GPA is top-tier.
