To love is also to suffer.

I have four dogs at home and a cat. I love my dogs and especially this one cat I have. Unfortunately, I had to take one of my dogs to the vet. I'm so sad, I think it will die. 

I can't help but think that loving these animals also means suffering, because they too will die, they will get sick, grow old... and the whole life we spend with them won't be half of their life with us.ಥ⁠_⁠ಥ

I've lost many pets in my life and I don't want to lose another. But animals' lives aren't infinite, and they suffer just like we do. What if I distance myself from the pets I still have? Then I won't feel anything when the others die. It's sad, I know...But seeing them suffer and cry because you can't help in any way is awful.
