A WICKED DAY OUT !! (wicked 2 + sushi bar)

I SAW WICKED 2 AND WENT TO A SUSHI

BAR WITH MY AUNT YESTERDAY

!! SLIGHT SPOILERS ALERT !!

Every year right before Christmas my aunt plans a hang out with me as a Christmas gift, (she says she'd rather give me memories than gifts because some gifts can come off wrong) the reason usually being because we don't talk much unless it's around the holidays but this time her reason was because she missed my performance at the promontory. Its shutting down so that was our last performance there. I usually play guitar but this time I tried something new. Our band's three songs we preformed were All around me (flyleaf), on and on (Erykah Badu), & One way or another (blondie). I played drums, bass, and guitar this time. Drums are kind of hard, but once I got the hang of it its pretty fun actually.

At the movies I got a slushie and nachos, they had the SpongeBob movie flavors and I really liked the sour punch one. It's 2nd place on the podium of movie themed slushies, right under the TMNT green slushie. Even though me and my aunt were late, when we entered the movie theatre the trailers were still playing and continued to play for like 30 more minutes 🫩. My favorite scenes were when Fiyero went to go see Elphaba after everyone thought she was dead and she repeated the words that he said to her earlier in the movie "your beautiful" "you don't have to lie to me" "It's not lying, its looking at things in another way" AHHHHH I thought that was so cute. I'm not a huge fan of Fiyeraba or Gelphie, but in this 2nd movie I slowly started to see the appeal. My other fav scene was when Elphaba shut Glinda in the closet and it showed a split screen of them against the door.

I really liked the allegory that was interpreted in this movie. Even though Elphaba's sister didn't have to do mush with magic she was still considered the wicked witch of the east because she was a dictator. She would be very easy to take down but it seems no one did that because she only hurt the animals and munchkins and it feels very targeted towards people who sit back and watch discrimination and doing nothing about it until their next on the list. The animals were first and then came the munchkins. A line that one of the munchkins said while getting kicked off the train that really stuck with me was "This isn't the OZ I know, it wasn't like this before" and I find that ironic because it seems like OZ is built on lies and nothing much changed besides the fact that instead of it only being animals treated poorly it was now animals AND munchkins.

I really enjoyed wicked 2 and I feel like it made all the cracks in The wizard of OZ make more sense. In the first wicked I'm ngl I hated Glinda, but I think she had really good character development and the song "The girl in the bubble" was perfect for her and touching. I like stories were everyone is in the wrong and has flaws, it makes them more human like and relatable, because no one is a saint. Elphaba is still my favorite and I'm still upset I haven't got her in CRK 💔 I got Glinda on my 3rd pull and still haven't got Elphaba 🫩.

After the movie my Aunt took me to this sushi bar, I was a bit lost on what to choose when I saw the menu :,) I ended up picking the rainbow tray and berry blast smoothie. I usually just get a California roll, maybe with some of the crunchy stuff on top (IDK WHAT ITS CALLED) but I wanted to try something new that has salmon on it but still comes with avocado. It was really good but the texture was different than I thought it would be. Overall 8/10 meal :3
