Been meaning to get more into underground rap and the like. When I say I like any genre, I mean it and I am willing to expand my tastes.
I personally do not understand how people find rap overstimulating. If anything, it's the least overstimulating genre I've listened to. I don't think the average person would survive a single second of power electronics.

let me tell you something, but, a good 80% of the people here DONT listen to rap....and i think the issue here isnt about them not knowing or pretending...you just have to find the right people/the right websites, i dont hate rap, ive gotten sum of my rap classics from my dad and i think the people who hate it are subtly racist and pretend to like the good and better music

Now, I’m not saying I hate rap. I actually kind of like rap I listen to it every now and then. But what caught me off guard was when you mentioned those who dislike/hate rap are “racist.” I don’t think it’s ok to make such a bold claim just because some people just simply don’t like a certain genre.

Actually so true. I recently made my Spacehey account and I've felt kinda isolated since the ppl have such a different taste than me. When i even try mention anything other than their preferred genre and artists like underground rap, they go on and on about some "mumble crap" or smth like that

i dont even listen to rap but people's opinions on rap is such an obvious litmus test for if they hate black ppl

Nahhh deadass. I made a bulletin Abt how weird it is to say you're overstimulated by rap because rap is very diverse, and a NUMETAL FAN was defending people that say they are overstimulated by rap... dawg... numetal wouldn't be a thing without rap...

I know little about underground rap, but people who make excessive comments about hating "mumble rap" have a racial prejudice involved. "mumble rap" is classified pr much as anything not Kanye, Eminem, Biggie, Tupac, or the mainstream hip-hop artists. At least that is my experience as a white dude talking to people about music.
nah it's sort of some inferiority complex. no one thinks youre racist if you dislike death metal, classical, russian folk or whatever say you. people only think theres an ulterior motive when you dont like rap. it's the only genre where this happens

Historically there's been a lot of racism in anti-hip-hop and black music. In the USA there has been a historical difference between "black" music and "white music" so i'd say there is a good reason to ask why people hate rap so much.

Rereading your original comment, yeah I think you're right if someone obsessively hates on rap they probably are prejudiced. Although mumble rap is a newer genre thats been trending lately so its possible people make remarks about it just because of that
