The whole Nicki Minaj thing

What is up with people ideolizing celebrities who piss in their face?

Nicki Minaj has many good songs and she is good at what she does, rapping. But the fact that people still actively support her when she was discovered to be a Trump loving republican is insane to me. Combined with the fact that she has on many occasions come 1-2 hours late to her own concerts and doing the minimal on them.

She shows through her actions and her words that she does not care about her fans (or at least not enough with the fact that she disrespects her fans by coming late and with the fact that many of her fans are LGBTQ+ which the republicans and Trump are actively against) 

And she probably knows that she has a wall of fans who will defend her every action and that is honestly so sad. People have this cult defending mentality and putting any person on a piedestal where all of their actions are excusable and making the person out to be morally perfect is insane. Maybe it’s a humiliation or masochism thing or something like that. Maybe people like being seen as a mindless follower of some random celebrity you’ve never met.

And ofcourse you can separate the music from the artist because at the end of the day Nicki Minaj songs are all amazing but just mindlessly excusing all of her actions and saying that she does no wrong by supporting Trump who has done horrible things is just wrong. 

Plz get a sense of self and a sense of morality.
