yuri is underrated...

i feel like Yuri from ddlc is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO underrated... i have a few reasons to support my statement. firstly, she is so pretty. when Sayori asks if u would rather walk home with Yuri than her, she LITERALLY SAYS "but she's so beautiful?" so she's canonically pretty. second, she just acts more mature than the rest (dw i love the others too btw) being more mature than someone can increase how people view you or how highly they think of you. for example, in a fight between Yuri and Sayori, who do you think would win? probably Yuri bcz she acts more mature and smart. third of all, her character is such a sad character. the fact that she doesn't cut herself bcz she's sad is actually weird bcz Monika tells us that she cuts herself bcz she wants to/ is a habit for her. which is rly weird considering cutting yourself actually hurts. when we find her around the corner cutting herself, she was actually not sad or angry at all, she looked happy to be hurting herself. the last reason is, her death was so meaningful. her death contributed a LOT to the game itself. because her death showed the whole fandom that Monika IS controlling them. if only Sayori died, you would think that she must've done it to herself and Monika had no part in her death but then we see that Yuri dies and we finally realize that the girls are just dying one by one like dominoes. the fact that we sat beside her for a whole week (or weekend ion remember) sitting beside her and hearing her speech slowly distort and become nothing but a bunch of odd symbols and letter and numbers put together is so disturbing and meaningful because the game wants to make you feel bored and that you want to quit but then suddenly Natsuki comes in. the part where Yuri stabs herself even if you say you love her is so odd but kind of true in a way. how would you feel if you showed your crush you knife collection and showed him/her a poem with piss and blood stained all over it and stole their pen and asked them if they love you and they said yes? you probably wouldn't be THAT happy as to keep yourself alive with a knife in your hand. anyways, this is why I think Yuri is underrated!!! -seungmin out the building
