Two questions in one blog entry: learning piano and french

HOW to learn the piano without taking lessons?! I mean, I MIGHT take lessons once I have j*b but with my living situation, not yet. What should I learn first? Musical notes?

I've studied a little bit of french as a kid (basic greetings, numbers, pronunciation. I can read but not write AND understand bye) and getting back at it every now n then but I'm not consistent bc it's a little overwhelming for me. Any tips how to expand my knowledge? Duolingo alternative or is it fr working for yall?

i dont remember the name but there's a website where u can watch tv shows in french, and then like, fill in the blanks with subtitles. I've never tried it, but maybe that'd be helpful!!

as for learning piano, i can't attest to what it is like to learn it solo.

If you want to learn more, musically, a cheaper option could be to learn music theory online. This website looks helpful, as well i've read this book, "What to Listen For In Music" by Aaron Copland, who is a composer I like, I think it explains things about music well. So you can ignore this if u want to focus solely on learning piano, but music theory is related.
