yesterday my school principal randomly asked me what I wanted to be in life. I said I wanna be a machine learning engineer.
“oh you going to be in the military?”
“nah its just AI stuff and programming”
“oh that's great, have a nice one”
“thank you, you too”
then I walked away, confused about whether I should've told him that I wanted to be a writer or philosopher knowing that they don't get paid much or usually have financial sustainability. And yes, I do think my principal can be pretty harsh when it comes to success in life, which is why I gave him a logical answer instead of one that would've made me look bad.
should I balance both writing and having a sustainable skill in order to stay afloat in this economy? Especially in the world of AI and data governance?
