Homophobia is NOT catching my ass!!

I feel SOOOOO LUCKY I got brought up w good friends in my life, because otherwise I feel like I would have turned out homophobic.

This sounds crazy asf to say, but there is an actual reason. This is as my parents are religious, and deem pretty much anything out of the 'norm' bad. I feel lucky that I actually got exposure to the LGBTQ+ community, as I feel like without it, I would of adapted my parents preconceived ideas about queer people as my own, and in turn began being homophobic.

Believe me, I am a christian myself! And, the bible does out right say that same sex relationships are wrong, there is no denying that. But, I honestly don't really care about people who want to have same sex relationships. The way I view it, their beliefs are theirs, and my beliefs are mine. Why would I want to try and stop what they are doing, if they aren't trying to stop me? As well, almost every queer identifying person I've met have been the sweetest people ever, and even if their lifestyles don't match my religion, I don't care. A friend who likes the same gender and who has true goodness in their heart is better than a "christian" who goes to church 3 times a week and says gay people should be killed.

Just my beliefs! I hope people realise not every christian is homophobic lmao </3
