Why is <center> deprecicated?

Its so useful! And it ends the whole "how do i center a div" issue!

It would make web dev so much easier. I dont see any down sides with having it stick around!

In the meantime, if you wanna center a div you have to do is 

margin-left:auto; and margin-right:auto; OR text-align:center;
